Yes - most insurance companies automatically include your children on your critical illness policy.

The general rule is that if one of your children is diagnosed with a critical illness listed on your policy, then you will receive a payout - although sometimes this will be at a reduced lvel. Please check your proposed policy. A child usually has to be aged between 1 and 18 years, but some insurance companies won't include children until they're aged 3.

If a claim is made for one of your children, the policy will NOT automatically terminate. So if you, your partner or another of your children is diagnosed with a critical illness within the policy term, then you will still be able to make a claim. However the policy will terminate if you or your partner make a claim.

When your children reach 18 then they can no longer be covered on your insurance policy. If they want Critical Illness cover then they will need to arrange their own policy.
