If I get a combined Life Insurance and Critical Illness policy, will the value of cover be the same for both provisions?

The sums insured are usually the same but you can stipulate different amounts if you want.

When you request a quotation for a Life and Critical Illness policy, then unless you say otherwise the quotation will always be based on the same sum insured for both the Life and Critical Illness provisions. This is because most people want the same level of cover for both provisions. However, if you do want the insured sum for Life to be different to the insured sum for Critical Illness, then mention this to the Life Insurance Adviser when they call to discuss your quotation, and they will arrange that for you.

If your combined Life and Critical Illness policy is specifically used to protect a mortgage, then the sum insured will definitely be equal for both the Life and Critical Illness provisions.
