How long will it take to process my Life Insurance application?

It all depends upon your personal details, and whether the insurance company needs to investigate any further.

If your application is straightforward, you have no medical family history, you are young and of good health, you could be on risk within the hour if the application can be completed over the telephone.

If it is all sorted out via the post, then the quickest you can reasonably expect to be covered is in a week.

To give you some idea of how long most applications take: 3 in 10 applications will be accepted immediately; about 5 in 10 have to wait three weeks; and 2 in 10 wait 6 weeks or more. The longest an application can take is around 10 weeks.
