When will my Life Insurance cover start?

As soon as your application has gone through and everything has been resolved, your cover will start.

For straight forward applications this process should be completed within a day or two (about 1 in 3 applications) but for the others the process could take upto 10 weeks, especially if a medical is required.

You can arrange for your life insurance now but arrange for it to start in a month or so's time. (For example, you may want the starting date to co-incide with the completion of a house purchase.) If you want to delay the starting date, please mention it to your life insurance adviser when he phones you.
