Conveyancing is the term for the legal process of transferring ownership from seller to buyer.

Because conveyancing is a legal process, it must be carried out by a solicitor or licensed conveyancer. When your tender for a property is accepted, the seller's estate agent will contact your solicitor and they will commence the conveyancing process.

Conveyancing is not a free service, and you can shop around to different solicitors to get the best price before deciding whom to use. It's definitely worth shopping around because the procedure can be quite expensive. We recommend ringing three or four solicitors for a quotation, or you can search online for quotations.
