If you have been subject to a Repossession Order in the past, it may
be that a mortgage can still be found for you. It will depend on your
details and current personal circumstances.
If you are currently subject to a Repossession Order it does not mean
you will necessarily lose your home. For your home to be repossessed a
Court will have to decide that there is absolutely no chance of you paying
the loan back. In many cases the possession order will be suspended or
postponed – giving you the opportunity to repay the arrears within
a reasonable time. If you find that you cannot keep to the payments ordered
by the Court you must seek further advice as soon as possible. You should
consult a solicitor or your local Citizens Advice Centre.
If it is clear to the Court that you cannot repay the arrears within a
reasonable period, you will lose your home. The court will notify you
when you must leave the property and if you continue to remain in the
property after that date, you will be evicted.
