Yes, there is a chance that your claim could be refused. We have included here a
list of possible reasons:
- Lying on your application form. If you have lied on your application
then the insurance company is entitled to refuse your claim. For example,
you may have an existing health condition that would affect a disability
claim under the terms of the policy.
- Your claim is fraudulent. If you were dismissed from your job but
try and claim for unemployment, your claim will be refused. You should
be aware that insurance companies keep information about fraudulent
claims and making a fraudulent claim could result in you being refused
insurance in the future.
- Your claim is not covered by the policy. All insurance companies will
specify exactly what is and isn't covered and you will find these details
in the Key Features booklet. This will accompany your policy documents.
- You were not up to date on your monthly premium repayments.
